Description: After celebrating her own birthday, our Client was sexually assaulted in her own home by an 18-year-old uninvited guest of the birthday celebration who snuck into our Client’s bed with her while she was sleeping. The perpetrator performed sexual acts upon our Client before she realized what was happening and screamed for help. The perpetrator was criminally charged, convicted and sentenced to serve prison time. Our team sought to, and successfully did, hold the perpetrator accountable in the civil justice system to ensure that the full measure of the injuries suffered by our Client were addressed, not just the criminal behavior of the perpetrator.
